Compare systems, not presentations
Beautiful photography matters, but the process behind the finished home determines much of the client experience.
Verify the company before comparing the pitch
Obtain the legal company name, builder licence information and the name that would appear on the construction contract. Check the official Alberta registry and ask the candidate to explain discrepancies. A trading name, attractive website or industry membership does not establish that the entity on your contract is the one you researched.
Interview references about the process
Ask recent clients how budgets and changes were communicated. Ask clients who have lived in the home longer about responsiveness after possession. Seek projects similar in site conditions and complexity to your own, and clarify the candidate's actual role on each one.

- What workload will that person carry during the build?
- Can the team show an anonymized schedule and progress report?
- How are unresolved issues recorded and followed up?
